Jonas Holmstedt is new Managing Partner of Wåhlin

Jonas Holmstedt has been appointed Managing Partner of Wåhlin. Jonas Holmstedt has practised at Wåhlin since 2014 and has prior to the appointment been a member of Wåhlin’s board and management team. In his role as Managing Partner, he will primarily be responsible for the firm’s operational management and will continue to take part in the firm’s exciting development and growth.

Jonas Holmstedt succeeds Björn Sahlin, who has served as Wåhlin’s Managing Partner since 2015. During Björn Sahlin’s successful term as Managing Partner, Wåhlin increased its turnover from SEK 28 million to over SEK 50 million in 2018 and opened offices in Stockholm. Wåhlin operates as one unified company with robust cross-office collaboration. A strong emphasis on digitalization in recent years has been key to this collaboration.

Jonas Holmstedt describes Björn Sahlin as a popular leader who has made significant contributions to the firm’s expansion. During Björn Sahlin’s term, Wåhlin advanced from primarily being based in Gothenburg to having well-established offices in four cities, with nearly twice the number of employees. Björn Sahlin reveals that he is most proud of contributing to double the firm’s turnover and hire a great many incredibly skilled people. As a Partner, he is now looking forward to participating in Wåhlin’s continued growth together with the rest of his colleagues.

Jonas Holmstedt is excited to pick up where Björn Sahlin left off as Managing Partner and continue the tasks of developing the firm and leading it to new successes. Jonas Holmstedt sees sustainability issues, the growth and organization of the firm and the recruitment of new partners and associates as key issues to focus on in the coming years.

“The legal industry at large is currently changing. We have seen many of the large firms split up and more medium-sized firms established”, says Jonas Holmstedt. “In addition, the use of AI and digital solutions is an increasingly important topic for our clients and us alike. Wåhlin’s strength in this context is that while we have enjoyed a stable foundation since 1964, we have also shown over the years that we are not afraid to expand and develop. We are on the cutting edge, not only of today’s challenges but also of those of tomorrow.”

“Jonas Holmstedt has a strong business drive, clever insights and vast knowledge of human character, and I’m really looking forward to following the company’s growth under his leadership,” says Björn Sahlin.
